Who is Fluffy Dice Taxis?
Fluffy Dice Taxis is a company developed by two brothers after seeing a demand in their home town of Whangarei. After going out on the town a couple of times and talking to family and friends, everyone was finding it hard to get a taxi and sometimes the price was unreasonable. One brother doing 3 and half years and 6300+ rides, and the other brother doing 2 years 3000+ rides via a rideshare company in Auckland, and being constantly asked when it was coming to Whangarei. They decided instead of waiting for an out of towner to bring it that they would start doing a taxi service in their home town.
The fleet consists of two Mitsubishi Outlander SUV’s allowing for plenty of leg space and a comfortable ride.
Why the name Fluffy Dice Taxis?
The name was inspired by a set of fluffy dice sitting on a shelf left behind by a daughter. Then looking into the meaning of them dates back to World War II.
Pilots during the war would put lucky trinkets in their aircraft to keep them safe. While these items varied, pilots often used gambling pieces, such as chips and dice, because they were tokens of good luck. The idea was that if these gaming pieces could help you win some money, they might protect you as well. Following World War II, using dice as a decoration continued as a tradition. Eventually, people started hanging fluffy dice on their rearview mirrors as it was a sign of luck. Many people started doing this trend, which is when fluffy dice became extremely popular.
